COUNSELLORS AT LAW ~ Offering Expertise, Experience & Service

Estate Planning

Estate Planning to minimize taxes and to maximize family wealth constitutes a major portion of the firm's practice.  Jonathan and Kenn have both practiced extensively in this area and update their knowledge of the most recent developments and techniques by frequently attending and presenting seminars and subscribing to leading publications and treatises.

Our firm offers planning which utilizes the most recent developments in this complex and important area concerning gift and estate taxes, inheritance taxes and Generation Skipping Transfer Taxes to achieve an overall plan to avoid having family wealth decimated by the confiscative estate tax system.

Kenn and Jonathan have formulated, prepared and implemented planning utilizing unified credit shelter trusts, living trusts, insurance trusts, valuation discount planning, generation skipping trusts and other sophisticated estate and business planning techniques.  Both have extensive experience counseling clients concerning elder law, asset protection planning, planning to avoid probate, Medicaid planning and supplemental needs trusts for handicapped and disabled beneficiaries.

The practice has handled many complex cases in the probate area including reformation of trusts to correct improper drafting and obtaining state and court approval of a Medicaid Qualifying Trust for settlement proceeds to be received by a client, with a disability receiving SSI benefits and supervising the probate of large estates.  The firm also handles IRS gift and estate tax audits and Tax Court proceedings.
